Tay Bridge ‘trespass’
Man to stand trial over
A MAN is to stand trial over allegations he brought the Tay Bridge to a standstill.
Darren Hogg, of Burnside Court, allegedly trespassed on the bridge on August 7 last year, causing the driver of a train to bring it to a halt on the bridge. He denies climbing on to the bridge’s railings as well as threatening to jump.
Hogg is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and making racial remarks.
The 31-year-old is further accused of urinating on the bridge during the incident.
A plea of not guilty was tendered on his behalf and Sheriff Lorna Drummond fixed a trial at Dundee Sheriff Court for May 3 with an intermediate diet on April 11.
