West End stalwart is stepping down

-

“There have been concerns raised about the parking problems since 2016 and we’ve made little headway.

“With the parking increases in and around the city centre I can’t see these issues improving anytime soon.

“There are businesses hanging on by a thread.

“Small changes could be made to improve the parking in the West End and to encourage greater footfall into the area.

“The community councillors and the ward councillors have done an incredible job in assisting me with seeking improvements where we could.”

During Peter’s tenure as chairman the community council’s tireless work has made a positive impact. He played a major role in the decision to keep Ryehill Police Station open, which has proved a benefit to residents.

Ward councillor, Fraser Macpherson, paid tribute to Peter’s “hard work” during his time in the role.

He said: “Peter has built-up a good team i n the community council.

“It’s a tribute to them all that there have been so many positive things happening in the ward.

“I believe Peter will continue to play an active part in the community.

“The West End as a ward owes Peter a great deal of gratitude for all the hard work he has put into the role over the last four years.”
