Ogilvie Homes has been given the go-ahead to build the new houses on an area of land east of Barns of Claverhouse Road.

The development will feature a mix of three-bedroom semidetached and detached homes.

It will also offer four-bedroom detached properties, with a mix of driveways and garages for parking.

A new cul-de-sac will be created running parallel to nearby John Grahame Avenue, with an existing footpath between the new street and Silver Button Yard retained.

Approving the proposal, council officers said Ogilvie’s plans aligned with local development objectives.

However, they have attached a number of conditions to the plan – including that the new development must have public art on display – which the housebuilder must comply with.

A decision notice said: “The proposal presents an opportunity to redevelop the application site
