Plan for 40 homes given green light
and enhance links between the site and the surrounding area.
“The proposal will make a positive contribution to the regeneration objectives of the area.”
A single letter of objection, which raised concerns about antisocial behaviour, was dismissed on the grounds that the issues were “not of sufficient weight to justify refusal”.
The plan was submitted to the local authority in March last year, and is the housebuilder’s second attempt at the project.
Ogilvie submitted a similar proposal in 2015 for 35 homes on the land, including three-storey townhouse-style properties.
The previous application was also approved.
However, the Glasgow firm has since revised the plans to accommodate 40 homes and a “more interesting streetscape”.
A statement from Ogilvie Homes said: “We would advise that we have further approvals to secure.
“All going well, we would hope to start on site i n late summer.”
The news comes hot on the heels of another housing development being given the green light.
A total of 44 new homes are to be created on the three borders of Dundee, Angus and Perthshire as part of Springfield Properties’ project to build an entirely new community at Dundee’s Western Gateway.
