BROUGHTY Athletic took over as Super Leag ue leaders after a hard-fought 1- 0 v ictor y over Forfa r West End at Whitton Park.

Kirrie Thistle battled back from 3-1 down to earn a point at bottom-of-thetable Glenrothes thanks to goals from Stuart McKenna and Paul Sludden. Earlier, Darren Scott scored from a penalty for Kirrie.

In the Thornton’s Property League Cup, Newburgh went down 6-2 at home to Thornton Hibs.

Fraser Robinson scored both ’Burgh goals late on.

In the East of Scotland League Conference C, Jeanfield lost their unbeaten run away to league leaders Broxburn, who won 3-2.

Rhys Davies grabbed Swifts’ goals.

St Andrews beat visitors Edinburgh United 2-0, Jack Wilson and Darryl Falconer scoring.

RESULT of the week – SCONE THISTLE’S 3-1 win over East Craigie took them top of the Premier League.
