Saints anxiously waiting for Clark scan result

-

ST J OH NSTON E goa l keepe r Zander Clark is undergoing a scan on his injured hamstring later today.

The stopper missed the scoreless Ibrox divide against Rangers due to the knock which he sustained in training on Friday.

He slipped as he went to save a shot and that resulted i n the damage.

Saints’ manager Tommy Wright said: “It doesn’t look great but we will just have to wait and see what the scan says.”

Cammy Bell deputised and said it was the quietest game he has had at Ibrox.

The 32-year-old former Kilmarnock, Rangers, Dundee United, Hibs and Scotland keeper, on loan from Partick, did well and is again set to be in goal at home to Aberdeen on Saturday should Clark still be deemed too unfit to play.

Tommy was, naturally, delighted that Saints managed to snap their run of five beaten games on the trot.

He said: “We showed what a good side we are.

“We were more like ourselves and Cammy didn’t have a difficult save to make.

“Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had great saves from Chris Kane and Joe Shaughnessy and Blair Alston hit the bar.

“Our pereformance was excellent.

“We went long when we had to and played passes when we had to and Chris Kane ran the channels well.

“Rangers don’t drop many points at Ibrox so it was good to come here and get a point.

“It is a good result but we have a long way to go and, hopefully, we can build on this and go on to get more good results.”
