West End hit the goal trail in friendly outing

-

FORFAR West End overwhelmed North Region side Fraserburgh United, scoring seven without reply.

Graeme Hart’s first-half double was followed by second-half strikes from Mike McIreavy, Jamie Montgomery, Andy Walls, Ryan Cruickshanks and player/manager Daryl McKenzie.

West End are back in action tomorrow when they play Lochee Harp at Strathmore Park (7.15pm).

Meanwhile, across at Guthrie Park, Forfar Albion went down 5-3 to Ellon United of the North Region Super League. Ben Mooney, Charlie Crosby and Scott Black were Albion’s scorers.

At nearby Westview, Kirrie Thistle were 5-1 winners over their local rivals Kirrie Amateurs.

Only a late winner prevented Luncarty earning a highly-impressive draw away to last season’s Scottish Junior Cup finalists Largs Thistle.

Twice the Bleachers came from behind, Robbie Holden – with his first goal for the club – cancelled out the hosts’ 25th-minute penalty opener within five minutes. After the break, Calum Kirkcaldy levelled 18 minutes from the end only for Largs to grab the winner with five minutes left.

Next up for the Bleachers is a visit from Newburgh tomorrow night (7.15pm).

’Burgh were on the wrong end of a 6-1 scoreline at home to Hill of Beath. Scott Sutherland scored Burgh’s consolation counter.

Brechin Vics had a fine 5-2 win over North Region outfit Stonehaven.

Cameron Fraser and Duncan Martin both bagged braces for Vics with Barrie Gourlay getting the other.

A Zak Archer goal earned Arbroath Vics a 1-1 draw at home to Kirkcaldy & Dysart.

Vics are at home again tomorrow night, taking on Carnoustie YM Amateurs (7.15pm).
