Shipbuilde­rs almost let it slip late on

IN a bizarre game at Craigie Park, East Craigie looked set for an easy win over Brechin Vics when they led 5-1 after 50 minutes.

However, they almost disintegra­ted after Vics converted a penalty in the 83rd. minute.

The visitors got within a goal by scoring another two in the next three minutes but the potential Craigie blushes were spared when they scored late on to make the final score 6-4.

Rory Faulkner scored a double for the Shipbuilde­rs with their other goals coming from Ross McNaughton, Fraser McLeod, George Johnston and Jordan Conway.

Cammy Fraser scored twice for Vics along with strikes from Rikki Gillespie and Duncan Martin.

Lochee Harp came away with a point from Davie Park after a 1-1 draw with Blairgowri­e.

Nathan Degernier gave Michael Gormley’s side a deserved half-time lead but the Berrypicke­rs hit back with a second-half equaliser from Cammy McManus.

Violet made it two wins in a row with a comfortabl­e 5-2 success over Coupar Angus at Glenesk.

Sean Tucker and Ryan Scobie both scored doubles for Andy Heggie’s side and Callum Kiernan was also on target.

Lee Davidson and Ryan Burke were the Coupar scorers.

Arbroath Vics grabbed their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Forfar Albion at Ogilvy Park.

Marc Walker grabbed the opener in 41 minutes.

Albion were down to 10 men in 52 minutes when Robert Smith was given a red card for a late tackle.

Ben Sparkey came off the Vics bench and scored with his first touch to make it 2-0 after 61 minutes.

Vics’ Ben Fraser was ordered off after picking up a second yellow card in the final minute of the game.
