Can Pansies halt the Craigie bandwagon?

-

VIOLET will be the latest club trying to halt the East Craigie bandwagon at Glenesk in the Premier League.

However, it will be a tall order for the Pansies, who suffered a disappointing defeat at Arbroath Vics last Saturday after winning their previous three matches.

Andy Heggie’s side must find a way to stop the free scoring Shipbuilders, particularly George Johnston, who notched four against Coupar Angus last week.

The Pansies will make a late selection while Craigie will be without Liam Dunn and Conan Howett who are unavailable.

Lochee Harp picked up a useful point in a goalless draw away to Brechin Vics last week.

They will be hoping to go one better at home to Arbroath Vics but, with three wins from five starts, the visitors look a much better outfit this season and will make it tough for them.

Harp gaffer Michael Gormley will again be without Sam McDonald, Mark Kelly, Lewis Fyfe and Connaire Connelly but hopes to be able to name a new signing in his squad.

Vics add Conner Gray and Kellon Lyons to their pool. Coupar Angus, who have won only one of their five league games, are at home to a Blairgowrie side who are still unbeaten in their five games.

Coupar Angus could have a couple of trialists in their pool, which is minus Lee McDonald.

Blair are without Robbie Hood.

Forfar Albion, who are still pointless after five games, are at home to Brechin Vics, who will be without the suspended Ewan Duff.

Albion manager Steven Stewart hopes to be able to add two loan signings from the Super League North in time for the game as well as a trialist. Joe Kidd and Fraser Sturrock are unavailable.

IN the South Premier League, Newburgh’s unbeaten run came to an end last weekend at home to Kirkcaldy & Dysart. Tomorrow ’Burgh host Bo’ness United.
