RAGING residents have blasted a peeing postie for urinating in their Dundee close.

The postman has been captured on CCTV after one man was so fed up at cleaning the mess he recorded it and posted footage on social media.

The 24-year-old resident, who only gave his name as Stephen, said he complained to Royal Mail, only to find the same worker was back delivering mail yesterday.

He said: “A lot of the people here are fuming at this.

“I have cleaned it up with another guy, but we have had enough.

“At first we thought it was local people sneaking in and put up false cameras to put them off.

“But the pee was still appearing so I thought, enough’s enough, and it was time to put in a real camera and that’s what it recorded. I was quite surprised, to say the least.

“The regular postie is off just now and he is a good guy, but when this guy does the shift he pees up against the walls and he even peed on my door once.

“It’s been going on a for a few months now and it is diabolical.

“I got a tweet from the Royal Mail after complaining and they said they were sorry. But the postie was back on Tuesday and I told him to go away and asked if he would clean up his mess. He looked at me as if nothing had happened.

“The postie was back on in the area yesterday, while the Royal Mail said that they were looking into it. There are seven flats in the close and it is mostly students who, to be honest, are not really that bothered.

“But the other people are really upset by the mess and the smell.

“It is unbelievable, when you think about it.

“He is a mature guy, well, maybe not that mature, and obviously thinks it is OK.”

Stephen added it was normally in the afternoons the postie arrives in the West End close – before he relieves himself.

Stephen said: “He just doesn’t give a s*** about anyone.

“And he isn’t scared about being caught because there is a window on the front door where people can clearly see him from outside (in the street).

“But he obviously didn’t know about the cameras that we set up in the close to catch who was doing this.

“As I say, it was a bit of a shock to see it, but now a lot of people are angry.”

The Royal Mail said: “We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our people at all times.

“Royal Mail is investigating this matter.”
