Food lived up to its online praise

-

FRIENDS on my social media had mentioned this place several times, all with very positive comments and other folks I don’t know had agreed.

Going to check it out for ourselves seemed like a sensible thing to do.

I’d seen a post that if I booked online for collection (though they do deliveries too) then I’d receive a 15% discount.

There is lots of on offer here – curries, kebabs, wraps, pizza and more.

We eventually opted for a meal for two – chicken pathia and korma, with two rice and paid £1 extra for chicken pakora (as opposed to vegetable) and 95p for a peshwari nan (not plain). This also came with popadoms, onion chutney and chilli sauce (total £17.95).

Added to this was a large chicken and donner kebab with separate salad and sauce (£9.50) and a 10” mushroom pizza (£5.50).

The menu only seemed to offer tikka lamb and chicken, but we asked in the shop and if we’d put “not tikka” in the comments box they’d have obliged. Good to know.

The food was lovely. The pizza box was wrapped in foil to keep it nice and warm. It was a tasty base, laden with cheese and mushroom. Yum.

The chicken in the curries was good quality and plentiful. The pathia had a wee kick to it and the korma was perfectly creamy. The nan didn’t let the side down either and the six pakoras came with a fabulous, almost tomatosoupy, dip.

The poppadoms and onion were eaten without me (how very dare they!), but I’m told they were good. And the kebab was packed full with chicken and tasty donner. My social media buddies were telling no lies.
