Perthshire outings prove fruitful

TRIPS i nto Perthshire proved fruitful for three DSMFL teams.

Dryburgh came through comfortabl­y 3-0 against Burrelton while Charlie’s Accies’ trip to Wolfhill ended in a 4-1 win for the DSMFL outfit.

Crashing out of the cup at the first hurdle were Cairdy Thistle, who lost 4-3 to Finavon.

Kelso went down 4-2 to Newport, while Occidental lost the Ferry derby 4-1 to Broughty United.

Riverside Athletic were unlucky to go out 2-1 to Luncarty while DUSC were 4-0 losers against Lowson.

Riverside CSC struggled to get started against Bridge of Earn, going down 7-0 in a day to forget.

In the Doc Ferry’s Premier League, Bank Street Athletic went into joint-second spot with a last-minute penalty earning them the three points against Stobswell.

The defeat leaves Stobbie winless after their opening four matches division.

The Riverview Utilities First Division saw FC Spartak maintain their perfect start to the campaign with four wins on the bounce after a 5-1 victory over the returning Medical Students.

Freshers week appeared to catch up with the student side as they struggled to get into the game.
