Violet boss upbeat for revenge mission

-

DESPITE losing to Kilwinning Rangers in the Scottish Cup last week, Violet ma nage r A ndy Heggie was encouraged by their performance.

He hopes this will stand them i n good stead for tomorrow’s Premier League outing at Brechin Vics where they have a score to settle.

The Angus side were 3-0 winners when the teams met at Glenesk on the opening day of the season.

However, Heggie believes the Pansies are a different proposition now and can turn the tables.

He will be boosted by the return of Lawrie Mitchell and Scott Glennie from suspension while Barry Wilson also returns to the pool.

Andy Kelly is their only injury concern. He faces a late fitness test.

East Craigie will be hot favourites to maintain their unbeaten run at home against Lochee Harp.

The Shipbuilders have already met Michael Gormley’s side this season, with an opening-day 7-1 win setting them up for a seven-match unbeaten run.

Craigie have a full squad available while Harp will make a late selection but will be without the suspended Mark Kelly.

Blairgowrie entertain Arbroath Vics.

The table-topping Berrypickers have a squad of 16 available.

The third-placed visitors are in fine form this season as last week’s 6-0 cup win at Brechin Vics underlined and are likely to be along the same lines.

Forfar Albion, who welcome Coupar Angus, expect to be on the usual lines.

As strikers Alan Cruickshank and Stefan Brown plus midfielder Lewis Gemive all return, the visitors, who hope to have a new signing on board, are at full strength.
