Saints boss Wright feels his side will get it tough

-

ST JOHNSTONE face Hearts at McDiarmid Park tonight buoyed by their first league win of the season, 3-2 at home against Hamilton.

Hearts have also not made the best of league starts but Saints boss Tommy Wright knows his side face a tough game.

He said: “It will be a hard match. The last time Hearts were here it was an entertaining 2-2 draw. Hopefully, this time around we can take all three points.

“The Hamilton win has helped us close the gap on the teams above us, Hearts included, and a positive result and performance could see us climb as high as eighth depending on other results.

“The Hamilton victory should give us confidence moving forward.

“Some of our attacking play was excellent and, if we can do that consistently, we can be an exciting team capable of beating anybody.

“Hopefully, we can put on another good performance against Hearts and make it back-to-back wins.”

Wright went on to praise the Saints fans, adding: “Their support, as always, was fantastic against Hamilton.

“Even when Hamilton pulled it back to 2-2 the fans got right behind the boys to help us get that late winner.

“It has such a positive impact on the players when they have that backing. Hopefully, with the home support behind us for the next three games, we can get the results that’ll see us shoot up the table.”

Saints are unlikely to make many, if any, changes from the side that beat Hamilton.

Should they remain unchanged, young striker Callum Hendry, who netted the winner against Hamilton, will again be a substitute.
