SPORTS ‘Embarrassi­ng calls will hurt us in the long run’

Speaking after the 5-2 loss, Stars head coach Omar Pacha said: “We showed character to get it at 2-2 but, unfortunat­ely, there was an embarrassi­ng call by the linesman for the third goal and then another by the referee for the fourth goal.

“Those are the facts and they are costing us games. It is going to hurt us in the long run.”

From the off, Stars were on the attack but Nottingham opened the scoring inside five minutes through Brett Bulmer.

Stars drew level just 95 seconds into the second period.

Justin Maylan tapped in the rebound of Kevin Dufour’s shot after Kevin Carr had made the initial save.

Anthony Beauregard levelled on 48 minutes but, just 39 seconds later, Nottingham went back i n front through Jacob Hansen, who then added his second.

Inside the final two minutes, Brett Perlini scored from the halfway line to make the final score 5-2 Panthers.

OMAR Pacha has chosen Glasgow Clan as the opponents for his Stars side in this season’s Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Dundee had the first overall pick for choosing their last eight opponents after finishing the group stage with the best record.

The Stars boss chose Clan, who they have beaten three times this season. Stars have forfeited their right to home advantage in the second leg and play the first leg in Dundee on November 22.
