Brown back in for ICT clash but Pawlett is a doubt for Tangerines

-

DUNDEE United welcome back Troy Brown to the fold for tomorrow’s trip to Inverness but may have to cope without key man Peter Pawlett.

Defender Brown missed Tuesday night’s win over Partick Thistle but has recovered f rom a calf problem to make the squad for the Caley clash.

Attacker Pawlett, however, had to come off after just 45 seconds in the Jags clash at Tannadice with a hamstring spasm and may now not be involved in the Highlands tomorrow.

Terrors boss Robbie Neilson confirmed Pawlett is a doubt for the trip.

“His hamstring j ust tightened up when he was walking back onto the pitch as the ball went out for a throw-in (on Tuesday night),” he said.

“He felt it tighten up but we don’t think it’s a tear, just a spasm, so, hopefully, it’ll settle down in time for Inverness.

“I thought he was going to go back on at the time but I didn’t want to take any risks with him because he’s such a key player for us.

“Generally with these things, when you’re full out sprinting, that’s when you have the real problems and the real tear so we’re hopeful it’s just a spasm like it seems to be.”

There was better news on Brown, however, after Robbie decided to leave him out on Tuesday.

He added: “Troy had a w e e c a lf pr o b l e m . It happened quite early in the game last Saturday but he managed to get through it.

“H e mi g h t ’ v e m a d e Tuesday night but we just didn’t want to take a risk with him.

“We expect him to be back tomorrow.”

L A S T S a t u r d a y ’s collection from Dundee Relay For Life at Tannadice raised £642.01 for Stand Up to Cancer.
