Holt is determined to play his part in helping McDiarmid Park men

-

ST JOHNSTONE midfield man Jason Holt has been missing from first-team action l ately but he i s determined to contribute to the McDiarmid Park side.

He is on l oan from Rangers for the season and the fact he can play a part in Saints’ season was “a big factor in me coming” he said.

“It was an easy decision to sign for Saints for the season,” he added.

“Manager Tommy Wright was very keen to get me in and I was happy to sign.”

Saints have won their last two games against Hamilton and Hearts and now Holt is hoping they can continue to climb the league.

“We can now upwards.

“It’s true we made a slow start but we have our first two league successes now and aim to build on these achievements.

“We have some good

look young lads in the squad and they are being helped by the more experienced players. As a more experienced player, I can give the younger lads some advice.

“We have some really good quality players and, after having a weekend with no game, we are keen to get going against Hibs at home on Saturday.

“I started at Hearts and was one of a number of young players who came through at Tynecastle.

“We were given chances in the first team from a very young age and that has stood us in good stead.

“It was a great platform and I trust the young lads at Saints also go on to have good careers.”

Saints have no major injury worries for the Hibs game.

Central defender Liam Gordon is making his way back to full fitness following a knee injury.

It remains to be seen whether he will be in the squad to face Hibs.
