Improving Violet face tall order at Craigie

-

PREMIER League leaders East Craigie will be out to make it 11 matches undefeated when they face Violet at Craigie Park.

The Pansies were hammered 7-1 when the sides met at Glenesk.

Andy Heggie’s side have improved since then although the odds must still favour another three points for the Shipbuilders.

The hosts are raring to go and have a full squad available while Violet will make a late selection but will be without Jay Taylor, who is suspended.

Lochee Harp head for Ogilvy Park to meet an Arbroath Vics side whose home record is formidable.

They have won five out of six on their own patch and will make it tough for Michael Gormley’s side, who will be looking to get over last week’s disappointing defeat by Brechin Vics.

Gormley will be without Jay Smart through suspension.

The hosts will be without unavailable pair Josh Chalmers and Ben Starkey.

Blairgowrie, who returned to the top of the table last week, are at home to Coupar Angus.

Blair will make a late selection as one or two players will require fitness checks.

The Foxhall outfit have a full squad of 17 available and will probably field a trialist.

Brechin Vics and Forfar Albion, who meet at Victoria Park, will be keen to improve their respective records.

Brechin have won only once at home, while the visitors have yet to pick up a point from five away days.

Vics are definitely without skipper Morgan Smith, while Aaron Stephen and Jack Gribben, both injured in last week’s win at Harp, are rated doubtful.

Albion gaffer Stephen Stewart says his side will have to go back to basics after a barren run.

With three regulars missing, he is drafting in Kalin Jones from Albion’s U/19 side.
