every game, then we could slip up. We need to treat it as we’ve treated all the games and give them the respect they deserve but, ultimately, go out and get the three points.”

Victory in Angus tomorrow would mark United’s third in what would be a perfect week after 2-1 successes against both Alloa last Saturday and at Morton on Tuesday.

However, Reynolds insists they are not looking at things in that way and are only focused on what’s in front of them.

And, whatever that may be, Reynolds believes they have the ability to come out on top.

“You can talk about breaking it down into blocks or quarters or into weeks but, for us, it’s been as simple as game by game.

“The three-game block this week has just meant there’s games coming around quicker but we’ve not really looked any further ahead or set any targets.

“We feel as though we’re good enough to win every game we play and we’re taking it on a game-bygame basis.

“When you start looking at how many points wins you a league or what you need to average over a quarter then you start tripping yourself up.

“As we’ve seen already in the league, there’ll be games you’re expected to win that you lose and games you’d expect to be tough that you go and win.

“We just take it one game at a time, it’s as cliche as it gets but we’ve done it so far and it’s served us well. All our attention was on the Morton game in the build-up to that but, as soon as the final whistle went, it turned to Arbroath.”
