All roads will lead to Davie Park as top two go head-to-head

-

THERE is no doubt about the big game in the Premier League – it’s the top-of-the-table clash between Blairgowrie and East Craigie at Davie Park.

The Berrypickers currently head the table by two points but Craigie have three games in hand and are undefeated this season.

The sides have already met twice this season. The Shipbuilders hold the edge with a draw at Davie Park and a thumping 5-1 win at Craigie Park.

Avoiding defeat would stretch Craigie’s unbeaten run to 14 matches and, if they manage to pick up all three points, it would make them strong favourites to go on and lift the title.

The management team of Craig Brown and Sean Wilkie deserve a lot of the credit and they travel to Blair with a full squad at their disposal.

Blair manager Mark Brash has yet to name his squad due to a couple of injury concerns.

Meanwhile, Violet manager Andy Heggie could be set to ring the changes after two under-par performances against Arbroath Vics and Brechin Vics.

The Pansies will look to get back to winning ways away to Forfar Albion but will be without James Connelly and Ryan Kinnear through suspension.

Albion boss Steven Stewart will be looking for a reaction after last weekend’s heavy defeat to Blairgowrie. The Guthrie Park outfit will be without goalkeeper Jason Hill due to a knee injury

Lochee Harp head to Foxhall Park to face Coupar Angus.

However, manager Michael Gormley’s hopes of repeating last week’s win over Brechin Vics have been dented as four of last week’s squad are missing through various reasons.

Even though Graham Allan and Lewis Fyfe return, Gormley only has 10 players available and will add trialists to give him a full pool of players.

Coupar include a new face in their squad of 16 as midfielder Calum Byers has joined on loan from East Craigie.

Arbroath Vics travel to Victoria Park to face Brechin Vics with Lewis Quinn back in their squad after suspension.

However, Michael Fotheringham will miss out due to work commitments.

Brechin boss Andy Davie is without Morgan Smith and Adam Renilson through suspension while Colin Wilson is unavailable.
