DUNDONIAN hockey ace Cha rlotte Watson has been named in the Great Britain squad for their upcoming international clashes.

Team GB will head Down Under to take on Australia and New Zealand next month with Watson among the selection for the FIH Pro League clashes.

The former Dundee Wanderers star, now with English side Holcombe, has been in the last few GB pools as she stakes her claim to be involved in the side which takes to the field at the Tokyo Olympics this summer.

Watson is joined in the squad by fellow-Scots Sarah Robertson and Amy Costello.

Having secured a full-time contract with Team GB, the 21-year-old is certainly one to watch for the future.

Meanwhile, three local youngsters have been selected for Scotland men’s EuroHockey Indoor Championship III campaign, which begins tomorrow.

Invergowrie brothers Cammy (20) and Jamie Golden (18), both of Grove Menzieshill, and Wanderers talent Elliot Sandison (22) joined the squad as they jetted out to Spain for the tournament last night.

The Scots are in a tough pool alongside Spain, Wales, Slovenia and Ireland, whom they play tomorrow, as they look to progress and gain promotion to the second tier of European indoor hockey.

Cammy, who also plays the outdoor game for Dutch side Klein Zwitserland, will be a key figure for the Blue Sticks in Santander over the weekend.

Younger brother Jamie is the youngest member of the travelling party as he looks to continue to make his mark.
