Vics take advantage of eight-man Harp

IN the North Premier League, Arbroath Vics were 2-1 winners away to Lochee Harp, who finished the match with eight men.

Craig Tosh put the visitors in front after 20 minutes before Harp went down to 10 men when Mark Kelly was red-carded after 35 minutes.

Marc Walker doubled Vics’ advantage two minutes from the interval.

Mike McBrearty was Harp’s second dismissal five minutes from time and, despite Nathan Scott’s sending off shortly afterwards, the depleted hosts managed a consolatio­n counter from new signing Connor Ireland.

Brechin Vics had the points from their home game with Coupar Angus in the bag by the interval. They went in four goals to the good, Liam Scott hitting a double with Ewan Duff and Barrie Gourlay also on target.

Alan Cruickshan­k scored from a second-half penalty for a consolatio­n counter for the visitors.

New leaders East Craigie had a fairly comfortabl­e 3-1 win over Forfar Albion.

George Johnston scored a brace for the Shipbuilde­rs with Finlay Baird also finding the back of the Albion net. Albion’s scorer was Dylan Stephen.

North End proved to be a bit too strong for Violet in the Thorntons Property Cup.

The Dokens ended up 3-1 winners thanks to strikes from Grady McGrath, Frankie Devine and Gary Sutherland.

In the same competitio­n, Newburgh beat Armadale Thistle 3-2 thanks to a Scott Sutherland double and a single from Kyle Fraser.

IN a hard-fought East of Scotland Premier Division encounter, Jeanfield beat Tranent at the Riverside.

Swifts went ahead when Chris McLeish converted a penalty a couple of minutes from the break.

Kyle Lander levelled 10 minutes after the restart but a cracking 25-yard Fraser Smith drive won it for Swifts.

Kinnoull swept aside Conference B rivals Edinburgh United 4-0 at Tulloch Park. Three up at the break thanks to Rhys Davies (2) and Dale Smart, Davies completed his hat-trick in the second half.

St Andrews leapfrogge­d hosts Haddington into fifth place on goal difference after a 2-1 victory. Jake Grady and Kyle Wilson were on target for Saints.
