Meanwhile, Sunday’s hosts Coventry Blaze are currently in very good form.

On their last outing, Danny Stewart’s men claimed a 4-3 shootout win i n Nottingham against the Panthers and they can still challenge for the league title.

If they win their games in hand, Blaze would be within two points of the current league leaders, Sheffield Steelers.

Drew Schiestel, Ross Venus, Janne Laakkonen (2) all scored for the Blaze at Nottingham and the team was also at full strength.

With a 1-4 record against Coventry this season, it will be another difficult match for Dundee.

Dundee defenceman Shawn Boutin stressed the i mportance of winning the crucial points up for grabs this weekend and expects another tight match with the Clan.

He said: “At this time of the year, every game and every point matters.

“We have had success against Glasgow this season but they are a hungry team.

“They are going to come out really strong and hard because they need the points as much as we do, so it will be a really good battle.”

The Canadian blueliner also stressed his side will need to play a tight defensive game to shut down Coventry on Sunday.

Boutin added: “They are good offensively, they are good off the rush, they are a fast team and they are opportunistic, so we are just going to have to play a good game defensively and aim to limit their chances.

“Luckily for us, our goalie has been playing very well lately but we have to help him a little more.”

Face-off time for tomorrow’s home game is 7pm while Sunday’s away fixture will start at 5.30pm.
