Breach of bail denied

A MAN allegedly stole a mobile phone from the staff office at Dundee Railway Station.

Gordon Heron also faces a separate allegation of breaching his bail conditions.

Heron pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court.

It is firstly alleged that on September 28 last year, Heron stole a mobile phone from the railway station while on bail.

The 36-year-old is also accused of breaching the conditions of his bail on May 7.

Prosecutor­s allege that he contacted his former partner through social media at Inveralmon­d Industrial Estate in Perth.

Heron, of North Grimsby, Arbroath, is alleged to have been subject to a bail order preventing him from contacting the woman.

After pleading not guilty to both charges, a trial was fixed for June by Sheriff Gregor Murray.

Heron was remanded in custody.

A CONVICTED killer has been ordered to serve further jail time after threatenin­g to stab a prison officer.

Murderer John Styles, 23, left the HMP Perth guard “extremely shaken” after threatenin­g to stab him with a toothbrush with a sharplypoi­nted end.

Styles is currently serving 15 years for stabbing artist Jeroen van Neijhof, 38, to death at a flat in Brown Constable Street in May 2018.

The High Court in Edinburgh previously heard Styles boasted to an exgirlfrie­nd he had “danced all over” his victim’s head after repeatedly knifing the Dutchman 19 times during a drug-fuelled frenzy.
