Man, 27, accused of abusing his partner
A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded over allegations that he repeatedly attacked his partner during car journeys over a two-month period.
Kevin O’Donnell allegedly punched, bit and choked the woman on multiple occasions between May 5 and July 2 this year.
The offences allegedly occurred at an address on Balgowan Avenue and while in a car in Kirkton, Kingsway and Charleston.
O’Donnell, of Lawton Terrace, made no plea in connection with the claims at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He is accused of engaging in an abusive course of conduct against the woman by shouting, swearing and making derogatory remarks.
Prosecutors allege that he seized the woman’s throat, struck her on the head, seized her by the body and hair and tried to pull her from a car.
O’Donnell is bitten the woman on
alleged to have the body and tried to seize a phone from her as she tried to call the police.
Thereafter, he allegedly repeatedly punched the woman on the body and head, seized her throat, restricted her breathing, threatened to kill her and pursued her before stealing her car.
A separate charge alleges that O’Donnell assaulted a second woman on June 25 on Balgowan Avenue by repeatedly punching her on the body and striking her face.
On July 2, police allegedly caught O’Donnell driving without insurance and while disqualified.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael continued the case for further examination and remanded O’Donnell in custody meantime.
