No doubts that virus is a killer

-

IN the Tele on Monday, No Fear Here called Covid-19 the “alleged killer virus”.

This person must be lucky not to have had a family member with the virus.

My husband’s youngest brother and his wife were both in hospital with it in April – she was on a ventilator. Neither of them has fully recovered, even after all this time.

At the same time his oldest brother was admitted with the virus and died on Good Friday.

So it’s not an alleged killer virus – it is a killer. I hope No Fear Here never has to suffer a loss as our family has.

A EASTON

n MANY thanks to CG Richard for his thoughts towards No Fear Here.

A selfish person who believes that, despite the deaths of nearly 750,000 people and every country in the world feeling the need to take action to prevent a more devastating outcome, he knows better, and there is actually “no threat from an alleged killer virus”.

I re-iterate to this person, and I’m now using the term loosely, tell that to all the families affected by the virus. But you won’t, hiding behind your nom-de plume. Complete disrespect to human life.

NFH is the type of person who is usually unaffected by these events yet will likely spread to others. We knew there was no danger of a border closure, but what the survey showed was that the people would have been happy for it to happen and unlike NFH’s hopes, I can pretty much agree that the people will not forget and show this in the next elections.

However, the only party which could be obliterated, if they aren’t already in Scotland, is the Tory Party. So get on your plane and go stay in England if Boris is your hero. Your views are Not Favoured Here.

GERRY DIGNAN

n WHEN I see letters from No Fear Here I get this vision of him sitting in his bathtub splashing around creating a few waves and singing Rule Britannia until his voice goes hoarse.

His comment about no border between Scotland and England is laughable, can you imagine if the virus was spreading rampantly in Scotland? Boris would find a border then, as he has done for Leicester.

In England, the risk of catching this virus is five times higher than in Scotland and the Scottish Government’s job is to protect the people living here.

Maybe “No Fear Here” sees Scottish lives as worthless. Is this yet again another one of those Great British values we keep hearing about? ROD SELBIE
