£1,000 will put children in the saddle

-

ADOPTION & Fostering Angus has been gifted £1,000 from Persimmon Homes North Scotland’s Building Futures scheme.

The charity provides support and activities for disadvantaged children living with illhealth, disability or financial hardship across Angus.

Dorothy Archer, fundraiser for the charity, said: “We are currently providing support to 60 children aged from one to 17.

“This is a very welcome donation from Persimmon Homes and the funds will be spent on horse riding lessons to improve balance and co-ordination for the youngsters. The lessons not only boost confidence, they also help to develop concentration and release adrenaline, the feelgood hormone.”

The charity raises funds through regular activities including car washing, bingo evenings and raffles, but also relies on donations from local businesses and the public.
