Mum’s thanks for light show

-

LILY Douglas’s mum has thanked campaigners for their efforts in welcoming the Perth schoolgirl home from hospital as Scone Palace lit up pink to honour the young dancer.

Jane Douglas told supporters Lily had been able to get out to see the light display and fireworks after 10 days in hospital.

The Scone show was the culmination of the Light Up for Lily campaign designed to show the love and support the 12-yearold girl has in her local community of North Muirton and further afield.

Posting a thank you to the campaign page, Jane said: “Lily, (brother) Leon and I want to thank you all again for her lovely homecoming, Scone Palace was just gorgeous. We got Lily to the grass at North Muirton to watch and we heard lots of cheers from Scone.”

Friends of Lily have also launched a fundraiser for the youngster who was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma aged nine and is an inspiration to many. To donate visit gofundme. com/f/funds-forlily-douglas.

Lauren Moir, 29, was puzzled to receive a cheap gold ring through the post to her house in Brechin, from a sender in the Chinese city of Yichang.

She said: “I got a ring sent a couple of weeks ago. I asked at the bank in case someone was spending on my account but there was nothing unusual that he could see.

“There’s been loads of people on my Facebook said the same. About 20 people said they got rings or sunglasses.”

Meanwhile, others have reported receiving packets of seeds in the post, also apprently of Chinese origin.

One woman in Kirkcaldy who received a bag through the post told the Tele: “I binned them straight away because I’d seen people in plant groups talking about receiving weird seeds and
