Trial set for man accused of attacking partner

A TRIAL has been fixed for a man accused of attacking his partner and behaving abusively towards her.

Stephen Flight, of Pitroddie Gardens, allegedly committed the offences between January 2017 and January this year.

He denies pushing the woman on the chest which caused her to fall off a bed and strike her head on an occasion between January 1 2017 and December 31 2017.

Between October 1 2019 and January 1 this year, Flight, 43, allegedly engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards the woman by attempting to dictate what she could and could not do and how she should run her life.

Flight allegedly made derogatory remarks about her appearance and mental health as well as trying to follow her movements on social media.

At Dundee Sheriff Court, Flight had a plea of not guilty tendered on his behalf by defence solicitor Kevin Hampton.

Sheriff Keith O’Mahony fixed a trial for May.

A MAN accused of attacking a woman at his Menzieshil­l flat will stand trial later this year.

Samuel Mann allegedly seized the woman’s arms and pushed her on the body at his home address on Leith Walk on December 23 last year.

The 27-year-old faces a separate allegation of possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, on the same date.

Mann pleaded not guilty to both charges at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Keith O’Mahony fixed a trial for May.

A TEENAGER has been accused of breaking into a city pub.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly broke into the Nine Maidens pub on Laird Street on January 30.

Prosecutor­s allege the teen stole alcohol from the premises.

The teenager was not present at Dundee Sheriff Court and Sheriff Keith O’Mahony continued the case without plea until later this month.
