Mixed views at Piers’ departure

-

IT was announced that controversial presenter Piers Morgan is to leave ITV’s Good Morning Britain following a row over comments he made about Meghan Markle.

A PUB owner is fearing for the future of her business as she continues to miss out on government support due to a Covid-19 breach last May.

“Should have stuck to the rules like we’ve all had to then wouldn’t be in this situation.”

“Think this is to the extreme. She served pints to guys in the pub who were working. Hardly a crime. She should be getting the same support as everyone else who runs a pub.”

“It’s her own fault. She broke the rules.”

“Your only crime was being generous. Keep your head up and ignore small minded people.”

ALISON BRUCE:

“I think he will be missed and I will be switching off. Susanna Reid just doesn’t have what it takes. Such a shame over something we will never have the right answers to. I thought he was defending queen and country.”

THERESA KENNEDY:

“I liked him during lockdown as he asked questions we all wanted asked. But in the last months he has been a lot worse, Susanna hardly got a word in. This week was shocking – Monday was unbelievable. Worst hour and a half of breakfast telly I have ever witnessed.”

DEREK HUGHES:

“Whatever you think about him, he was one of the very few TV presenters that actually held government ministers to account. He frightened Johnson and his band of incompetents off GMB for months.”

SHAZ BED:

“He was the first person to call out the bullies when Caroline Flack passed away. He is no better than them on this occasion. Glad he’s going.”

LEONA GRAY:

“Piers makes my day. Right or wrong that man is passionate about what he believes. Gonna miss his drive and passion.”

LISA SCOTT BROWN:

“He was taking things to the extreme. Way overstepping the mark.”

MAUREEN PATON:

“Piers you were the only one to challenge those who no one else would. I won’t watch Good Morning Britain any more. Walk away with dignity.”

ANNE TURNER:

“I am so pleased he has gone and hope GMB dig into their archives and find the clip when Susanna said when you go Piers I will go with you.”

NURSE Cheryl Smith overcame assault and a suicide attempt. She now plans to walk 550 miles raising funds for a mental health charity.

“Well done Cheryl! What an inspiration you are.”

“Well done for achieving something brilliant after something so difficult.”

“Wow, what an inspiration. Well done.”

“Well done, what an achievement.”

Cheryl.”

“Well done.”
