AHEAD of our special reports into the Morgan blaze 20 years ago (see pages 4&5), readers shared their own memories of an infamous night in the city’s history.

THE OLD Firm game will go ahead on Sunday, the justice secretary has confirmed, as he urged fans to stay at home.

“Need out of lockdown. Not worth risking for a game of football.”

“Wow, 20 years ago. I was walking home from work that night and stood and watched it.”

“I remember my choir got cancelled that night, otherwise I would have been in there.”

ASHLEIGH MAY:

“I remember it well and my dad was one of the workers who helped rebuild it. Fast forward to six years ago and my son started his first year of high school at Morgan.”

“Remember watching all the smoke and seeing the sky lit up orange from my back door where I grew up in Fintry . . . was awful to see the aftermath of it when passing on the 32.”

IMPROVEMEN­TS for cyclists on key commuter links in the West End of Dundee have been revealed by the city council.

“They won’t be happy until they get the road to themselves and even then they will still use the pavement.”

“Meanwhile many of the roads in other parts of Dundee are dangerous because of huge potholes. We are all important.”

“Yet they will still take up majority of the road.”

“Sounds like a good start. Anything leading to fewer cars on the road must be a good thing.”
