Rape victim fled home barefoot after ordeal

-

A Dundee rapist chillingly told his victim: “You are going to make my dreams come true – or I will do murder.”

Kenneth Nicoll attacked the woman on September 27 at a flat in Dundee.

The terrified victim eventually escaped from the 58-year-old’s clutches and sprinted, barefoot, to her mum’s home.

Nicoll was jailed for four years at the High Court in Glasgow after he pled guilty to a rape charge.

The hearing was told how Nicoll and the woman had known each other.

There had been concerns about Nicoll bizarrely taking her underwear and then returning it.

In the hours before the attack, the victim had been at the bingo before meeting her partner.

She later returned to the flat where Nicoll also was.

Prosecutor Sheena Fraser said he appeared “angry” and demanded to know if she had had sex.

It was then he made the “dreams come true” remark and grabbed the woman.

Miss Fraser: “He pushed her back until she was lying on the couch.

“He continued to press her head into the couch before removing her lower clothing.”

The victim was not able to fight back due to Nicoll being “bigger and stronger”.

He also sneered at her: “You always wanted this to happen.”

The woman pulled up her clothes after Nicoll stopped but he then questioned why she was doing that as they were not “finished”.

She took her chance to flee when Nicoll allowed her to get a drink of water.

She was described as “crying hysterically and scared looking”.

Nicoll was later arrested after police found him arriving at his home.

Lorraine Glancy, defending, said: “He wished to plead guilty to the rape to avoid any more pain for the woman.”

Lady Stacey reduced the jail term from six years due to the guilty plea.
