Scots mother murdered as daughter slept

A SCOTS mum was murdered while her two-year-old daughter was in the room next door.

Angela Laskey, originally from Dumfries but who moved to California, was killed on Wednesday.

She is believed to have been killed by her partner after a row. Her 39-year-old partner, is being held for her murder, which police said “stemmed from an incident of domestic violence”.

Angela’s brother Paul McMillan and his wife Elaine, who live in Hamilton, said they were stunned by the 39-year-old’s death.

Police said there had been a history of domestic abuse and confirmed there had been a prior call for help.

Sergeant Riley Harwood said: “The officers who took the daughter from the crime scene made efforts to make sure she was not traumatised.”
