Prizes for legacy project
A COMMONWEALTH Games legacy project which helped young entrepreneurs start their own social enterprises and revive Glasgow’s high streets has won three prestigious awards in less than a week.
Beyond the Finish Line won the Inspiring Youth category in the Social Enterprise Scotland awards and also swept the boards at the Design Impact Awards, scooping both the judges and public awards at the Lighthouse in Glasgow.
The pioneering project has also been shortlisted for the Town Centre Regeneration section of the SURF awards, which will be announced on December 2.
Karen McGregor, Firstport chief executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Beyond the Finish Line has won these awards.
“Beyond the Finish Line was aimed at inspiring 16-30 year olds to find creative solutions to social issues in their local high streets, so it was great to hear we had won.”
