Housing staff in cancer care lift
CANCER support services have been given a funding boost thanks to housing staff.
Maryhill Housing Association organised a fundraising day for Breast Cancer Care awareness month.
Staff were encouraged to wear something pink to work and give a small donation.
There was also a cake sale and pink themed competitions.
The housing association has also unveiled a new community flat for resident meetings.
The flat has been given to the Glenavon Residents’ Association rent-free by Maryhill Housing Association.
It boasts a well-stocked library with donated books – many generously given by store giant Tesco, and a “quiet room” which can be used for counselling.
More organisations are being encouraged to come forward and make use of the facilities.
