Offenders’ pay back boost for communitie­s

OFFENDERS in North Ayrshire have carried out almost 60,000 hours of unpaid work to improve the area’s communitie­s in the past year.

People convicted of a variety of criminal offences can be placed on a Community Payback Order by the courts as a punishment and in order for them to make “payback”.

Projects included supporting vital council services and assisting residents.
