Jags vow to get at Gers from the start

- By GRAEME McGARRY

ABDUL OSMAN says it is a perfect time for Partick Thistle to take on Rangers, and has vowed that the Jags will be showing no respect to their opponents when they visit Ibrox.

Rangers are without a win in their last four league matches, although Thistle have also failed to record a victory in their last five league games since the opening day triumph over Inverness.

Osman says though that all of the pressure on Saturday will be on the Ibrox side in front of their demanding supporters.

“We have to impose ourselves on the game and not show them any respect,” Osman said.

“I don’t think they are any bigger a side than Celtic, so we’ve got to go there and play our game, and we’ll just see what happens.

“They are struggling at the minute as well, so it’s a game we have to go into with confidence and just try to play our football.

“The pressure is on them and that’s something we can try to use as an advantage. If we play our normal game then hopefully the luck will be on our side.

“I think it’s a massively good time to get them. It’s a good time to get anyone when they are struggling, and it’s a good opportunity to get something from the game.

“I watched them against Aberdeen the other day and all right, they keep the ball well, but I think we can get at them at the back.

“Their full-backs push on, so hopefully they leave some gaps for us to exploit. We’ve got to be organised and hit them on the break with the pace in our team.”
