Assault on driver

A WOMAN was injured when an object thrown from a motorway bridge smashed her windscreen.

She was travelling westbound with her two young children on the A702 Edinburgh city bypass on Lanark Road when the incident happened shortly after 10am.

The woman was treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for a facial injury.
