Search widens after cliff fall

-

THE SEARCH for an 18-year-old man reported to have fallen from a cliff is being widened.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Arbroath Cliffs in Angus around 1pm on Saturday.

A coastguard helicopter, rescue teams and lifeboat crews were deployed to search over the weekend.

Chief Inspector David McIntosh, of Police Scotland, said yesterday the operation was being extended “further up and down the coastline.”

He said: “We remain in close contact with his family at this very difficult time.”
