SCALES OF JUSTICE Glassed revellers set to be paid compensation

- By HANNAH RODGER

TWO women were left disfigured after a drunk pub goer threw a glass in a bar.

Tiffany Davidson chucked the tumbler on a night out in Malone’s Bar on Sauchiehall lane last year.

The glass hit two women on the head, severely injuring them.

Davidson, 27, said she was steadying herself at the bar on April 17, last year, when she found the glass and threw it.

She appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court before Sheriff Lindsay Wood for sentencing this week after pleading guilty to the charge.

Her solicitor said Davidson, from Rossie Crescent in Bishopbriggs, was “of good character” and the incident “had given her a terrible fright”.

He added: “She understands the dangers of drinking to excess and hopes to never find herself in that position again.”

Sheriff Wood told Davidson: “You come from good stock and you have a good work ethic.

“I realise how difficult this whole thing must have been for you but I am aware of the damage caused to two girls.

“You will be beating yourself up about this.

“You can’t have people throwing glass tumblers in bars and that is what you did.”

The 27-year-old was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service within 12 months, and she was also told to pay each of her victims £1500 in compensation.
