Teenagers charged after teacher shot
TWO schoolboys have been charged after a teacher was allegedly shot with a BB gun.
The incident happened within the school building on Monday – but police were not informed of what had happened until the following day.
The alleged incident happened in a corridor during interval between classes at Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh.
On Wednesday, Inspector Coleen Wylie confirmed they were made aware of an incident involving a BB gun allegedly being discharged at a teacher within a school in Helensburgh on Monday, April 24.
She added: “The teacher was not seriously injured and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Insp Wylie confirmed following further inquiries, two male pupils, aged 13 and 15, have been charged with alleged culpable and reckless conduct.
An Argyll and Bute Council spokeswoman said: “We take any action required to ensure this.
“The school has taken the appropriate disciplinary action.”
