NEARLY 30 years on from the Glasgow Garden Festival, the former docks and shipyards have been transformed.

From housing developments to the BBC and STV media hub, and new hotels, the former derelict area has taken on a new lease of life.

Now there are plans for a £10m whisky distillery, restaurant and visitor centre close to the Science Centre and Waverley paddle steamer.

This latest development is another sign that the waterfront can help this city thrive and the investment should be welcomed.
