Man, 73, attacked

AN elderly man suffered a serious facial injury in an “unprovoked attack” in Edinburgh.

The serious assault happened as the 73-year-old victim was walking along Queen Street. A vehicle drew up alongside him and he was subjected to verbal abuse by the passenger. As he crossed the road, he was approached by the passenger, who punched him in the face. Police say he suffered a serious facial injury.
