Stars of the future shape up...

-

OLYMPIC snowboarder Jenny Jones met the sporting stars of the future at a special event at Hampden.

She met more than 150 pupils from the West of Scotland secondary schools.

The special Young Ambassadors Conference was hosted by sportscotland, the national agency for sport.

The conference was part of a series of events where pupils take part in a range of workshops with a team of leading Scots athletes and sport de- velopment professionals, including ex-Scottish Rugby 7 Captain Colin Gregor, British former swimmer Caitlin McClatchey, former professional Paralympic athlete Stefan Hoggan, and goalkeeper Gemma Fay.

Led by Jenny, an ex-British professional snowboarder who became the first Briton to win an Olympic medal in a snow event, the pupils will gain an invaluable insight into the world of sport through the eyes of one of the country’s leading athletes.

Jenny said: “I’m honoured to host the Glasgow leg of sportscotland’s Young Ambassador conferences. The children here today are so passionate about making their voices heard, and for that I really admire them.”
