Full blast for Gaz to power Clyde on

- By JOHN McGILL

BARRY CUDDIHY is determined to play his part in helping Clyde build momentum after their win over League Two pacesetters Stirling Albion.

The 3-2 win at Forthbank was a huge boost for Jim Chapman’s men as they attempt to make a serious promotion challenge this term.

Cuddihy said: “It was a great result,” he said. “Especially given the fact Stirling had won four from four prior to today.

“If they had got the three points then there would have been a big margin between us.

“But it was good to get the win and hopefully we can move up the table and start challenging.”

The midfielder, an ever-present so far this season, believes The Bully Wee can mount a credible challenge after several seasons in the third tier of Scottish football.

The former Annan player said: “Hopefully we can kick on now and go on a run. It is a new squad and we’ve taken a little time gel in a new environment, but we’re definitely getting there.

“It makes it easier to walk into the changing room and see so many familiar faces.

“We all know each other so we can just concentrate on the football. There’s a good spirit in the team and things are going well in training. We just need to take it into games now.”
