Decommission fund receives another £ 5m
AN EXTRA £ 5million is being made available to help Scotland’s oil and gas industry make the most of decommissioning.
Energy Minister Paul Wheelhouse announced the money is the latest phase of the Decommissioning Challenge Fund ( DCF).
He also hinted more money could be found if there is the demand for it.
He said: “The budget for the DCF in 2018- 19 will reflect the projects coming forward, and our ambition is to match the £ 5million successfully awarded last year, however there is flexibility for this to increase if demand is demonstrated.”
Funding has already been used to improve infrastructure at ports, allowing more firms to carry out decommissioning work, while the money can also be used to help businesses complete feasibility studies.
