Police on standby as Maribor fans descend on Ibrox for Rangers clash

POLICE were on standby to escort football fans to Rangers clash with Maribor at Ibrox last night after violent footage emerged of the Slovenian fans.

In film fans can be seen fighting with police in the street as they chant ‘ Maribor’, prompting a police presence near to Paisley Road West.

However, the event appears to have gone smoothly. As the Evening Times went to press, around 100 Maribor fans descended on the SouthSide stadium as their team took on Steven Gerrard’s side.
