Friendships keep Annmarie happy in her work
ANNMARIE Higgins is a cook, working in Cookfreeze, one of Scotland’s largest industrial kitchens, based in Townhead.
Cordia is the only company she has ever worked for, having joined in 1993 when she worked part-time shifts at Cookfreeze to pack the food, before it was distributed to various Cordia catering facilities around the city.
She also held a part-time role in a secondary school, where she would serve pupils meals she’d made earlier in the day.
She has worked full-time at Cookfreeze for 15 years and loves the friendships formed with her co-workers.
Annmarie says the biggest challenge is being organised, keeping a close eye on stocktaking so that the operation runs smoothly but says the teamwork and job satisfaction makes it all worthwhile.
