Bus lane fine misery
I WAS recently a victim of Glasgow council’s wonderful bus lane cameras.
The injustice is not so much the initial fine but I did not receive their initial notice, so the first I knew of it was when they had increased the fine from £60 to £90, which they then of course demanded with threats.
Needless to say they can’t or won’t believe that I didn’t receive the first notice. Or perhaps they don’t care. Or perhaps they never sent it.
Anyway, I’m sad to say that I intend to never visit Glasgow again – I really don’t see why I should go somewhere in my leisure time to be extorted – yes it will my loss for the marvellous attractions and venues that I will miss but also Glasgow’s economy’s loss for my leisure spending.
A city government that abuses its visitors in that way does not deserve to attract any.
