How to help homeless

REGARDING your story ‘Council approves £18m homelessness strategy’ (February 9), a lot of homeless people can’t cope with the responsibility of renting and everyday things - it’s why some of them end up back on the streets.

Is the Bellgrove hotel acceptable? No, but to these people who choose to go there is, it gives them a roof over their heads and food, but most of all protection, which is the most important thing.

Hopefully the council do speak to as many homeless people as possible and get a bigger idea, as they aren’t all drunks or junkies.
